Flower Pressing Workshop with JamJar Edit
📅 Wednesday 6 May · 10:00-16:00
About this event
Discover how to capture the fleeting beauty of seasonal flowers at Goodnestone in this inspiring day-long workshop. The day begins with a personal tour of the walled garden, where you will gather inspiration from the vibrant seasonal displays. Learn how to select the perfect varieties for pressing, ensuring you choose flowers that preserve their beauty long after they’ve been picked. You will then learn the art of preparing and preserving these delicate specimens in your own flower press, yours to keep and use for years to come. From there, you’ll be guided through the process of composing and mounting your pressed flowers, creating a beautiful piece of artwork to take home. Join us at The Coach House, Goodnestone Park, (open to all, no experience needed) including tea, coffee, introductions, garden entry, a delicious lunch made from locally sourced ingredients, at the Old Dairy Café, and free onsite parking, with access requirements welcomed—contact us to discuss. Once regularly visited by Jane Austen, Goodnestone Park carries a gentle, historic charm that makes it an ideal setting for a flower pressing workshop. Set within 15 acres of beautifully designed gardens, the estate blends elegant formality with peaceful woodland paths and wide, open views. The Walled Garden, reflective ponds, terraces, and sweeping lawns provide an abundant array of seasonal blooms and foliage, perfect material for creative exploration. Throughout the grounds, quiet corners invite slow wandering and attentive observation, allowing participants to gather inspiration and connect with the delicate details of the natural world. With its historic house, tranquil atmosphere, and ever-changing textures of light, colour, and scent, Goodnestone Park offers a nurturing landscape where you can pause, collect, and press flowers, in a setting that feels both timeless and deeply nourishing to the creative spirit.
