The Wine Guild of the United Kingdom brings the best of Hungary to you in this packed evening, complete with nine wine tastings! Join us for an immersive exploration of Hungary's remarkable wine and food heritage, where centuries of winemaking tradition meet diverse terroirs and distinctive wines. The evening begins with an introduction about Hungary's position as Europe's most historic wine-producing nations, followed by a fascinating journey through the country's winemaking history - from the well-known Tokaj to Eger. You will be led through a guided tasting of nine money-can't-buy wines representing Hungary's most celebrated wine regions, including a vertical flight of several aged wines, as well as an Hungarian feast of traditional cuisines. The Wine Guild of the UK is pleased to announce that Mr Ferenc Kumin, The Hungarian Ambassador to the UK, and Mr Bálint Illés, First Counselor for Food and Agriculture, will be joining us as guests of honour at the event. Hungarian cuisine Paprikás csirke(Chicken paprikash) Gombapörkölt (Mushroom paprikash– vegetarian) Sides: galuska (Hungarian dumplings) or mashed potato Rákoczi túrós pohárdesszert (Sweet cottage cheese and apricot dessert in a glass) You will also have the chance to hear from winemakers, who will talk you through the characteristics of their wines.
